NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA courses are just added “short term certificate” programs only. These courses are not valid in India. The companies in India prefer “Industrial Safety Diploma” as the main qualification for the recruitments. The PGDISM & DISM Diploma Program offered by IIST is accepted by various industries while job interviews as one of the main qualification because IIST is the first DE Safety Institute in India having excellent track record and goodwill among various industrial sectors in India as well as abroad

No. The PGDISM & DISM Programs are totally Distance Education in nature but not an online course. Online courses are very difficult to learn and will not give you the right knowledge and skills required for on the job operations. Keeping this point in mind we give only printed study materials to our students and it is always better to use printed study materials (hard copy) for better learning. (No online study and No need of computers)

No. The Program is carefully designed to study at home and there is no need to attend any regular classes and not required any teacher / personal assistance. You can complete the course at home or work place without disturbing your job / other studies and activities from any locations

The PGDISM & DISM courses are management Program and not a technical course. Both Programs consist 5 days industrial training and 1 day contact class at the end of the course to get the relevant practical exposure and to experience the real working situations found in various in industrial sectors

There is no need to take 5 continuous days to do the industrial visits. You can plan the visits according to you convenience at your place (State). We will send the industry details instructions and permission latter by registered post to your address at the end of the Program to do the visits at your place easily (You can do it visits individually and no need of any personal assistance)

You can study the Program anywhere at home or work place without disturbing your job / other studies and activities. To start the learning process complete all the Work books and Assignments first (At your home). Then start 5 days field work to do the industrial visits at your place (State). Then prepare the project work (At your home). Then send all the completed reports to the institute for valuation. Then finally attend the one day contact class and examination at the end of the course to complete the training process (No online study and No need of computers – Printed hard copy study materials)

Yes. The program is for 1 year. However we give this fast track learning facility (Crash Course) to finish the Program in just 90 days. Those who want to complete the 1 year Program on an urgent basis can select this unique Crash Course facility to save the time. Students are permitted to change the Program duration from 90 days to 1 year / One year to 90 days at any time if required. Students are also permitted to attend the final examinations at any time after 90 days but should be completed within the validity period. Admission Validity period: 18 months from the date registration

There is no difference between 1 year and 90 days crash course. The Syllabus, Study materials, Teaching methods, Certification, Fee structure etc… are same in both duration. In crash course, you need to complete all the training activities of the 1 year Program in 90 days. The study time required for the 90 days crash course is 2 to 3 hours every day. Note: We will not mention 90 days crash course in the certificates

The increasing industrial accidents created demand for safety management and thousands of safety officer vacancies are generating every year in India and Abroad. 90% of these vacancies are generating from private / public sectors like Project sites, Petrochemical Plants, Oil and Gas Industries, Constructions Companies, Hospitals, Mines, Power plants, Manufacturing Industries, Factories etc… The expected salary of a Safety Officer in India is (Rs) 15,000/- to 40,000/- pm and Gulf countries (Rs) 25,000/- to 80,000 /-pm and above

In case of Distance Education, it is not compulsory to come to Kochi to join the institute personally. The easy way to join the program is to forward your application by post. Take a print out of the application form from the website first. After receiving the form go through it carefully and fill the form and attach the enclosures mentioned in the application form. Then forward the completed application form and enclosures to the address given in the application form by Registered post / Speed post. Note: The last date of registration for the next batch is: 10th July 2019

All the fee payments should be made through bank only. Approach any reputed bank near to your place and Make a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 9000 for DISM or Rs 12,000 for PGDISM in the name of IIST towards first installment payment. Then attach the DD along with the application form and forwarded to the institute by Registered post / Speed post to join the Program. Payment Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation SMS message and email from the institute after receiving your payment (on the same day itself)

There is no need to purchase any books from outside. The institute will send all the printed study materials and training instructions (Hard Copy) within 15 working days from the date of confirmation of admission by registered post to the address you given in the Application form. PG Diploma / Diploma certificate and mark list with CESM will be issued within 21 working days from the date of examination and this can be collected from the office or the same shall be awarded by registered post
